About the event
“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?” – Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. It is with this spirit that Unite Inc. will be hosting our 2nd annual virtual HBCU leadership conference “Leadership Beyond The Boundaries” taking place July 14-16, 2021. The pandemic has changed everything about how student leaders will need to look at leadership for the fall semester. This conference will ensure students are equipped with the skills and tools needed to be successful leaders. The event will take place from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm EST during the three days, and will feature a host of nationally renowned speakers and trainers.
At last year’s conference, we capped the registration at 352 students representing 37 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Building from that, we are going to expand our registration to allow 1,000 students to participate in this incredible leadership training. In order to grow the conference, and continue to make sure there is no out of pocket cost for any of the student participants we need your support. Many of the student leadership conferences have been cancelled due to the pandemic, but student leaders still need to be trained. We are asking that you serve as a sponsor and partner for this conference.
This is not another “death by PowerPoint” series of webinars. Participants will attend high energy interactive workshops, with giveaways, competitions and so much more. Participants will get the full in person conference experience in a virtual setting. Some of the workshops for students will be: Parliamentary procedure in action, women of color in leadership, leading vs managing, how to maximize the college experience, the power of listening, social media marketing, how to change school policy, and how to develop a personal narrative.
